Composites
Fafiec composite materials training
Module 1: "Core part"
Duration: 14 hours (2 days)
Learning objectives:
Know the composite materials generally as well as "the mindset" behind the design and use of these materials. The properties of these materials will be illustrated by real examples.
Training Plan:
- History of composite materials
- Definition of composite materials
- Presentation of reinforcements
- Matrix types
- General characteristics
- Implementation
Module 2: "Process"
Duration: 35 hours (5 days)
Learning objectives :
Master the principal processes for implementing composite materials with workshops demonstrating the basic implementation techniques in order to properly identify the challenge of composite materials.
Training Plan:
- Manual impregnation
- Pre-impregnated materials
- Infusion/RTM
- Thermoplastic forming
- Thermoplastic stamping
- Assemblies
- Inspections of parts
Module 3: "TOOLING"
Duration: 35 hours (5 days)
Learning objectives :
Know the set of tools required to develop composite material parts.
Training Plan:
- Shaping tool: molds. Choice of material and design of molds depending on the type of part produced and implementation technique used
- Trimming / drilling tools: jigs and part support. Design of tools depending on the chosen trimming technology (CNC machining, water jet or manual trimming)
- Assembly tools
- Interchangeability frame (inspection of final part)
- Repair of tools
Module 4: "CAD application on concrete case"
Duration: 35 hours (5 days)
Learning objectives:
Know how to apply CAD (CATIA V5) on concrete cases
Training Plan:
- Reminders about the basic module
- Preparation of customer part (modeling)
- Design of mold
- Design of draping tools
- Design of trimming and drilling tools
- Design of an assembly tool
- Design of a forming machine
Module 5: "CALCULATION"
Duration: 24 hours (3 days)
Learning objectives:
Learn the calculation of composite structures (dimensioning, certification, etc.). Evolve from the skill of a "metallic" calculator to the skill of a "composite" calculator or lay the foundations of a double "metallic / composite" skill.
Training Plan:
- Behavior and calculation of composite materials: micromechanics
- Behavior and calculation of composite materials: macromechanics
- The RDM (résistance des matériaux [material resistance]) calculation of composite materials in studies office
- Calculation by finished elements in studies office
Module 6: "CONCEPTION"
Duration: 24 hours (3 days)
Learning objectives:
Master the elementary design basics and the work method in order that the studies offices can undertake complete design of a part.
Training Plan:
- Understanding a requirements specification
- Choice of materials
- Current design rules
- Assemblies
- Definition of a draping plan
- Formulation of production routings
