Study of a glass airlock to the concierge of the Societe Generale Tower in Paris
On behalf of GENDRE, CALCUL-Méca studied the structure of a glass airlock to inspect and verify the feasibility of its construction based on the constraints encountered.
CALCUL-Méca‘s mission was to define and verify a janitorial airlock made of glass, for Société Générale’s D2 tower. The aim was to validate the dimensions of the glass airlock, the bonding, the attachment elements and the structure of the reception desk.
The possibility of small displacements and small deformations was taken into account when making these calculations.
Two types of analyses were performed:
- A static analysis for the study of stress behaviour.
- A buckling analysis for the stability study for the structure.
The glass analysis was compliant with the draft Eurocodes standard for glass structures - JRC Guidance for European Structural Design of Glass Components.
